Description: Mostly takes after her father with an overall human appearance but eyebrows more closely vulcan than human with the vulcan pointed ears. Dark brown eyes contrasting sharply with blonde hair and a slightly olive complexion. Unusually short for a Vulcan, but with the same long, lean look.

Personality: looking for adventure and might be considered a bit reckless but is completely dedicated to Starfleet. Very forthright, sometimes too much so. She doesn’t easily let people in but once she does you are her friend for life.

Ilyana grew up on a federation starship adoring her father and finding herself torn between the conflicting human emotions and vulcan sense of logic. She often spent shoreleave with her parents on earth on the coast of the Baltic Sea in the family Dacha. She speaks Terran and Vulcan. Illya, her father, was killed, when Ilyana was only 12, when their ship got caught in the temporal forces of an uncharted anomaly while trying to hide from a Cardassian warship. Ilyana was the first to find her father’s body and at times it still torments her dreams. Affter her father’s death she went to Vulcan with her mother who eventually remarried a Vulcan on the high counsel. Ilyana, being only ½ Vulcan and a somewhat rebellious youth, had a very difficult time keeping her emotions in check following the logical Vulcan ways. She was considered an outcast by her peers and was often a source of consternation to her mother and stepfather. She was relieved to finally get her parents blessing to leave Vulcan and return to Earth to start Starfleet Academy in the hopes of following in both her father’s and great, great, great grandfather’s footsteps. It was there that she met her best friend, Kalwroth of the House of Janro. They met while he was attempting the T’shar. She knew he was not doing it well and proceeded to tell him so which resulted in a sparring match lasting almost 2 hours until with a stroke of luck Ilyana managed to knock out Kalwroth with the Vulcan neck pinch. A friendship was born that day that would last all Ilyana’s life.

Ilyana and Kalwroth had the good fortune to receive their first post together on the USS Destiny. But it was a ship wrought with distress so, much to their relief they received their transfer orders and both began new careers on the USS Horizon-A. Ilyana and Kalwroth both knew they found a home on the Horizon and developed a deep respect and closeness to their fellow crew members. Through their dedication to the Horizon and Starfleet their careers flourished and they were steadily promoted, Ilyana reaching the rank of full Lieutenant. Their relationship also blossomed into a deep love although both were unaware until one fateful day when Ilyana touched her future husband and an imperfect Vulcan link was formed. Both almost died and had to be rushed to Vulcan where they would be formally and correctly linked and mated. But before the actual wedding took place, a chain of events was put into motion that started as revenge against Kalwroth and ultimately ended with the destruction of the Horizon-A and most of her crew.

The survivors were devastated, but out of the ashes was born the IKC Horizon-B with Kalwroth as her Captain. Ilyana was promoted to Lt. Commander and eventually Commander. As First Officer of the new Horizon it would never be the same, but it was a new beginning.
