When he was old enough, he sent his aplication to join the Starfleet Academy. His parents were pleased with this decision and supported him in that endeavour. After graduation, S'toval served at a variety of posts some being starships and others being Starbases and research outposts. When the USS Voyager went missing and the Pathfinder project was started up, S'toval immediately requested reassignment to that project. While there he was able to get to know Lieutenant Reginald Barclay very well. Upon first meeting the Lieutenant, S'toval felt he was 'unusual,' even for a Human. Over the course of the project, S'toval came to understand and even to admire Barclay's 'natural gifts.' When the Voyager was finally brought home, S'toval requested reassignment again. He had heard that the U.S.S. Avatar was now without a Commanding Officer and asked to be assigned there. |
