Information about e mail simming. Promotions: The Athens has a 'points' style promotional system. It takes a certian amount of points to adance from each rank. Please keep in mind that all point promotions are minimums, and serve only to help give the skipper a guidline. They do not gaurentee promotion. Here is a rough rundown on this system. Admiral's Uniform. Uniform: Commanding Officers: Dress Whites A simmer is allowed 2 points for their first quality post in any given week, using the normal definition of a week, Sunday to Saturday. And 1 additional point given for every quality post written up to a maximum of 3 points a week. This rewards the more active simmers. A quality post meaning 3-5 paragraphs; minimum. Another way a simmer may make addition points is through submitting, having approved and executed a storyline. The amount of points given for a storyline should not exceed 3. In this case a story line has some important elements that should be present for additional points to be awarded. First off the story should encompass most or preferably all of the crew. Be sure there are things for everyone to do, otherwise it just isn't any good. Secondly, it should take time, this too is a subjective element. Some ships post at a much more rapid pace than others; therefore, the Captain must use his or her own discretion as to whether the storyline lasts long enough. Email Division Awards Program Created by Kalwroth - Silk The purpose of this program is to recognize outstanding performance of email simmers both in and out of the sim. The goals are to provide Sim Masters and the Division Manager with a tool to improve crew morale and reward the contributions made by their crew and simmers in the division. Sim Awards Simmer of the Month - Simmer has posted a full, descriptive email post at minimum once per week. Both the quality of the post as well as the creativity has to have been excellent for the month as well as smart character interaction and interesting character development. Method of Award: Sim Master submits one candidate to the Division Manager with one example of their work that month and selects a winner from each fleet. Note: The same member cannot win both awards the same month to allow fairness. A member should not win more than two awards within 4-6 months to allow fairness. Honourable Simmers of the Year: Sim Master Submits two candidates to the Division Manager with at least 3 examples of their work for that year including a reference on their character development, interaction and progress throughout the year. Division Manager selects 2 winners from each Division, member cannot win twice, ie both divisions, etc. Sim of the Month: Fleet Commander nominates one sim per month to the Division Manager. Criteria to be announced. Sim of the Year: Fleet Commander nominates two sims per division to the Division Manager. Criteria to be announced. Sim Awards (In Sim Awards) (Trek/Starfleet only) Commendation - For outstanding performance, having taken the initiative in action or duty. Authorized by Commanding Officer and XO. Commendation goes in officer's permanent record and may accrue up to a maximum of 3 per year. Star Cross - For saving lives during a time of crisis. Submitted by Commanding Officer and XO, authorized by Fleet Commander. Medal may be worn on dress uniform and is entered into permanent record. Silver Palm - For acts that lead to peace of a planet or system, or settle a military dispute between two warring nations or distinguished diplomatic successful missions. Submitted by Captain and authorized by Fleet Commander. Medal is to be worn on dress uniform especially at UFP functions and is entered into permanent record. Medal of Honour - For actions that protect the security of the Federation or Starfleet which endanger the life of the officer. Submitted by Captain and Fleet Commander, authorized by Division Manager. Medal is to be worn on dress uniform and is entered into permanent record. Legion of Honour - For repeated actions that protect the security of the Federation or Starfleet which has endangered the life of the officer. Submitted by Captain and Fleet Commander, authorized by Division Manager. Medal is to be worn on dress uniform and is entered into permanent record. Starfleet Citation for Conspicuous Gallantry - Awarded for acts in the face of imminent danger and without regard for own life, protects the Federation. Submitted by Captain and Fleet Commander, to the Division Manager and forwarded to the President of FSG for approval. Medal is to be worn on regular uniform and dress uniform and is entered into permanent record.
