Personality:

Takar his a relative loner. She keeps herself fit by going through the martial arts that her parents had her learn as a child. Rarely is she seen without some kind of book in her hand. She has dedicated herself to her studies and is considered one of the top in the fields of pulmanology and cardiology on her planet. Upon joining starfleet academy she soon learned that the anatomy of all species are different and she was like a sponge soaking up as much knowledge as she could. She found herself drawn still to the two areas in which she excelled on Qo'nos and so tailored her studies to specialize in those areas.

She is relentless and tireless in her efforts and does not rest until her patients are properly seen too. Nor does she expect any less effort from those around her. The funny thing is that she seems to take each case personally. She would see the loss of a patient as an affront of her medical ability. She is open-minded to new ideas and tests these ideas out before trying them on individuals. She strives to find the best way to handle any given situation.

Her Klingon temper is know throughout the academy as she is know to loose her temper when coming to the right conclusion but approaching problems from a different way than her instructors intended. She thinks, after all of the patients safety first. One thing that marks her as different from her fellow doctors is that she readily admits when she doesn't know something but then follows through with finding out more about the particular aspect in question. Most doctors see admitting to not knowing something as an affront. She sees it as a challenge to learn more.

History:

Takar is from a family of well respected healers on Qo'nos and growing up, a healer is all she ever wanted to be. Her father was the healer to the current emperor and so she often witnessed the comings and goings to the palace. On the day she saw someone not of the Klingon race, she questioned her parents carefully. The person was a starship captain they told her. He did his work among the stars. She decided then that she wanted to work among the stars too. She excelled in science, math, and the warrior training to keep her body fit and strong. Somehow she thought that only the strongest could do their work among the stars. Healing was all she ever wanted and so when she joined Starfleet Academy and found out just how many different types of healers there could be she picked the two categories she was most familiar with. She had learned of the pulmonary system from her father (his speciality) and of the cardiac system from her mother (her speciality). She attended the best schools on Qo'nos and learned of both specialities rapidly. Her parents felt that she would serve the emperor when the time came her to take over from them. You can imagine their shock when she told them of their plans to join starfleet.

Her first posting as an Ensign was aboard the USS Kyushu-NCC-65491 while there she excelled in her field and advanced steadily to Lieutenant Commander. It was at the battle of Wolf 359 that her CMO forced her into an escape pod and entered it himself to block her exit. She tried to tell him that it was considered dishonorable to leave her post. She should stay and fight this battle. It was him that told her that a good warrior even if she is a doctor knows when the battle is lost and retreats with whom she can. They both watched as some of the escape pods were fired upon also, and their ship was virtually destroyed along with thirty- eight others.

She didn't let her mind linger on the lost battle as she was offered the assistant medical officer position on the USS Gandhi NCC-26632. She served under the command of Thomas Riker for a time before he abandoned starfleet to join the Marquis.

She was then offered the Chief Medical Officer's position on the USS Crazy Horse NCC- 50446 where she served until she was offered her own Command.
